Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 28, 2026, the 2025 Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards were announced. Zhou Xiangyu from the Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science and Ding Kang from the Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering, CAS, received the Individual Achievement Award. Five achievements, including "The Late Evolution History and Mechanism of the Moon," received the Basic Research Award; five achievements, including "Key Technologies and Applications of High-Energy, High-Repetition-Rate Solid-State Lasers," received the Technological Invention Award; and four achievements, including "Key Substrate Technology and Industrialization of RF Acoustic Filters for 5G/6G Mobile Communication," received the Science and Technology Breakthrough Award.
The CAS Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards were established in 2002. In 2024, significant reforms were implemented, establishing the Individual Achievement Award, Basic Research Award, Technological Invention Award, and Science and Technology Breakthrough Award. Awards are given annually, further strengthening the incentive mechanism for accelerating the creation of a source of original innovation, accelerating breakthroughs in key core technologies, and striving to seize the commanding heights of science and technology.
