Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The China Earthquake Administration (CEA) announced on January 7th that it had activated a Level IV emergency response to the 5.2-magnitude earthquake that struck Tashkurgan County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang.
According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the earthquake occurred at 3:17 AM on January 7th in Tashkurgan County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang (37.58°N, 74.93°E), with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.
Following the earthquake, the CEA coordinated with the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Earthquake Administration to conduct emergency response work, requiring relevant units to hold joint consultations, strengthen seismic monitoring and post-earthquake trend analysis, and promptly report relevant information.
It is understood that the average altitude within 10 kilometers of the epicenter is approximately 4545 meters.
