The Second Conference of the Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation Alliance was held.

  The Second Congress and Third Meeting of the Council of the Asian Union for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage (AUC) were recently held in Chongqing, with representatives from 33 countries and international organizations in attendance.

  The Second Congress signed the "Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Host Country of the Asian Union for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage," a joint statement between China and Egypt on jointly carrying out "Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation Actions," and an agreement on strengthening cooperation in the nomination, management, and protection of World Cultural Heritage sites. It also announced the establishment of the AUC's Austronesian and Maritime Civilizations Professional Committee and Science and Technology Professional Committee; released 15 Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation Fund-supported projects involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, the UAE, and other countries; and documents including the AUC's vision and mission, and the AUC Chongqing Consensus.

  At the Third Meeting of the Council, Rao Quan, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism and Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China, was elected Chairman of the Council of the Asian Union for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage.

  The Congress was jointly hosted by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and the Asian Union for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
