Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Yesterday (the 27th), reporters learned from Huaneng Group that the world's largest compressed air energy storage power station – the Huaneng Jintan Salt Cavern Compressed Air Energy Storage Phase II Project – successfully completed the turbine installation, officially entering the main equipment installation phase.

The turbine installed this time is considered the "heart" of the compressed air energy storage power station. It can respond to the grid's peak-shaving needs in minutes, completing the entire process of "rushing to full load" in just 10 minutes, converting the potential energy of air expansion into electrical energy. The equipment achieves 100% domestic production of core components and is currently the turbine with the highest single-unit output and largest air intake flow rate in China. The Huaneng Jintan Salt Cavern Compressed Air Energy Storage Phase II Project plans to construct two 350 MW non-combustion-type compressed air energy storage units.

Chen Hui, Deputy Director of the Engineering Safety and Quality Department of Huaneng Jintan Company: After the project is fully completed, it is expected to charge and discharge approximately 330 times per year, storing 2.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per charge, which can meet the charging needs of 100,000 new energy vehicles. It will also save 270,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 520,000 tons annually. (CCTV News Client)
