Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reports that with the profound restructuring of global supply chains and increasingly stringent standards for sustainable development and green consumption, digital transformation is becoming a core solution for the Vietnamese handicraft industry to break free from traditional models, enhance product added value, and consolidate its international market position, injecting new momentum into the industry's high-quality development.
Le Ba Ngoc, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association (Vietcraft), stated that the core value of handicrafts stems from unique creativity and exquisite craftsmanship. However, in increasingly fierce international competition, technological empowerment has become a key lever for industry upgrading—digital means can optimize operational processes, reduce resource waste, and achieve precise matching between products and target consumer groups. He clearly pointed out that the four core pillars of the digital transformation of the Vietnamese handicraft industry include: digitalization of production processes and transparency of origin information; borderless consumer experiences empowered by 3D and AR technologies; expansion of cross-border e-commerce channels; and the construction of a data-driven intelligent management system. Le Ba Ngoc further explained that digital transformation will drive industry upgrading from multiple dimensions: on the one hand, it will enable digital control and transparent product traceability throughout the entire production process, enhancing consumer trust; on the other hand, it will help enterprises efficiently expand into the cross-border e-commerce market, optimize supply chain management efficiency, and break through the geographical limitations of traditional offline channels.

He particularly emphasized that the deep integration of traditional craftsmanship with modern technology is a key path for the Vietnamese handicraft industry to break free from its reliance on low-price competition, and is also a core competitive advantage for shaping a national brand image and enhancing international influence in the global high-end consumer market. In the future, with the continued deepening of digital transformation, Vietnamese handicrafts are expected to achieve a leap from "cost-effectiveness advantage" to "value-driven brand" in the global market.
